Sirus Review Roundup (May 7 – May 13)

It’s a busy week for the reviews team. Games are streaming left and right and we’re filled with a lot of games pending for review. Bethesda’s package, Prey, just arrived a few days ago and Leif just started. Justin just started on Pixel Titan’s latest FPS action, STRAFE. I actually finished reviewing Skylar & Plux, but the embargo is set to lift next week. Our kiddo, Rachelle, also started playing The Surge by Deck 13.

However, 3 of them were able to publish their review pieces. But, expect that there are going to be a bunch of reviews coming out next week. So stay tuned for that!

Outlast 2 (PC) – Copy purchased.
Red Barrels | Justin Janitzek| May 13, 2017
Score: 8.2 / 10

“For the most part, Outlast 2 ticks all the boxes when it comes to presentation. The story may seems convoluted at first but given enough time and introspection, it can be rewarding. As of now though, the revelations are left to speculations and interpretations.” — Read the full review

Birthdays The Beginning (PS4) – Provided by NIS America
ARC Systems | Rachelle Tan | May 13, 2017
Score: 6.5 / 10

Birthdays the Beginning looks promising but most of the expectations did not meet when you start playing. Being their God was not easy and for me that was the only thing keeping me alive in the game, I could have died from boredom later.” — Read the full review

The Signal From Tölva (PC) – Provided by Big Robot Ltd
Big Robot Ltd | Carlo Cutanda | May 13, 2017
Score: 6 / 10

The Signal From Tölva has a lot of ideas but ultimately fails to follow through with a huge majority of them. While combat is fun, a huge part of why it is fun is because it is a break from how monotonous the game is. While the design for weapons and some parts of the terrain are interesting, the rest of the game just does not live up to it. The game, like the game-world you explore, is empty for the most part with some interesting pieces scattered here and there.” — Read the full review

We apologize for the late update, the Roundup was supposed to be published by 7:30pm. Expect next week’s Roundup to include Prey, STRAFE, and Skylar & Plux!
