EA Cuts Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker Credit Costs To 75 Percent

There has been a lot of outrage in the official Star Wars Battlefront subreddit in over 24 hours. After being considered to be the most down voted thread in the history of Reddit, EA’s official response to the topic made it even worse. This is because of the loot crate and pay-to-win controversy that people and potential players are concerned about.

However, DICE and EA are apparently not going to back down without a plan. Just earlier today, DICE’s Executive Producer, John Wasilczyk, made an announcement that top tier heroes are going to be accessible, and the credit requirement, the in-game currency, is cut down to 75%. Which makes Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, originally required 40,000 credits, are now available for only 15,000 credits.

“So, we’re reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits. Based on what we’ve seen in the trial, this amount will make earning these heroes an achievement, but one that will be accessible for all players.” Wasilczyk stated on a post.

While we have yet to see the outcome with the loot crate system in Star Wars Battlefront II’s multiplayer, we have already published a review-in-progress where Lex tackled the main campaign.

Even with this major change, it seems that everyone is still not satisfied due to the inclusion of the loot crate system. But we still have more time to dive into its multiplayer to finally give out our verdict to DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront II.
