Survival Tips for Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite Battle Royale

After Tom Clancy’s PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, Fortnite soon came out with their own system: the Battle Royale. Similar to PUBG, Fortnite Battle Royale has 100 players all running around with only one objective in mind: to be the last man standing. Just like any Battle Royale type game, players must fight and survive to win the game.

However, Fortnite had something that PUBG doesn’t have which is the farming and building system. Players can farm materials and build structures to protect themselves in case of any incoming enemy. While this may be giving a handicap, it actually isn’t. Players can also destroy structures that their opponent has built in order to gain their own materials to build their own forts.

With all these mechanics, you’re probably confused on where to start but don’t worry! After playing Fortnite Battle Royale, I’ve come up with some tips and tricks on how to survive the crazy Fortnite Battle Royale.

Tips and Tricks: Surviving a Battle Royale

When it comes to fighting in a Fortnite Battle Royale, there’s one particular rule you’ll have to remember: don’t panic. Even after playing FPS games that have some jump scare elements, there are still some moments where players can catch you off guard in Fortnite. While the main idea is not to panic, here are some tips to better survive and enjoy playing Fortnite Battle Royale.

Don’t camp.

Seriously, don’t. If you don’t have materials to protect yourself then, camping is the last thing you might want to do. There are players out there who specializing in sniping which you camping will make it easy for them to take one out. At the same time, the area will shrink in due time and you’ll have to do a lot of running. It’ll be a lost worse if the place you’ve camped is extremely far from the next area.

Keep near structures.

Structures are not only a source of cover but also a source of materials. In Fortnite Battle Royale, players can break tables, chairs, and even walls to make entirely new structures. In case you find yourself out in the open, make sure you have enough materials to build a new structure. If not, run for the nearest structure. Although there’s also a good chance there’s another player inside, the good part is that you can fight them in close combat. If anyone attempts to snipe you from afar, they’ll have a bit of a hard time doing so.

Barricades > Reviving

If you’re playing with allies, make sure you build a barricade first. The difference between PUBG and Fortnite is that Fortnite allows you to build a barricade. And if you have a friend down, build a barricade unless you’re ready to get shot. When building a barricade, build it around you with your back and your downed friend near a wall to make sure no one else attacks you from behind.

Get used to building.

When you’re chasing someone, you’ll have to build. So you have to keep on building, building, and building. Sometimes, players find their way up the hill so you’ll have to build a way up which leads to the next point…

Ramps > Wall

While a wall can serve as a barricade, it can’t help you chase an enemy. So, ramps are usually a better choice especially if you’re making your way towards higher ground. Leading yourself to higher ground also gives you a good chance to pick off other players while not giving yourself away. At the same time, you can see how far the next area is and build your way there. Your only problem may only being out in the open and being an open target for snipers. That is, assuming they start looking up.

So there you have it. Surviving in Fortnite Battle Royale may take a little getting used to but if played with friends, you can get loads of laughs. Enjoy and may the best player win!
