StarCraft Turns 20 This Month – Tons Of Activities And Goodies!

StarCraft, the critically acclaimed real-time strategy developed by Blizzard Entertainment, is going to celebrate its 20th year on March 31. Blizzard Entertainment, the studio behind great franchises like Diablo and WarCraft, is going to celebrate the epic milestone through a series of activities throughout this month.

That activity list includes a StarCraft Short Film to release on March 31 and it’s titled “StarCraft is Life: A 20th Anniversary Celebration”. The short film will showcase StarCraft players around the world and how the franchise impacted their lives. Blizzard is also going to hold a StarCraft Anniversary Livestream that features the community’s popular StarCraft personalities.

Here are the other things that Blizzard announced for this month in preparation for StarCraft’s 20th Anniversary:

  • Party Across Games – Players will have tons of bonuses and goodies when you log in to any Blizzard games like Overwatch, Diablo III, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and StarCraft II.
  • Login to StarCraft II and earn a Remastered Terran, Zerg, and Protoss console skins, a 20 Years of StarCraft portrait, and 20 Years of Terran, Zerg, and Protoss decals. Other than that, selected StarCraft II items will also be on sale from March 6 to March 20. (March 6)
  • When you log in to StarCraft Remastered, a new console skin awaits you! (March 6)
  • If you boot up Heroes of the Storm, you will earn Protoss, Zerg, and Terran portraits. (March 27 – April 7)
  • Thinking of going back to Diablo III this month? You can call in the Hyperion to aid you in your quests – well, to aid you as a “pet”. (March 6)
  • World of Warcraft players will get StarCraft-themed companion pets: Zergling, Grunty, Mini Thor, Baneling, or Zeradar. (March 31 – April 6)
  • Overwatch’s Widow Maker gets a Kerrigan skin! (March 6 – April 3)
  • Hearthstone gets a StarCraft-themed Tavern Brawl later this month. (March 21 – March 25)
