The Best Upcoming Mobile Games in 2022

Apex Legends Mobile Fade Featured

Maybe you’re a new gamer or have only just got into mobile gaming (shoutout to the old school console game lovers), and you’re wondering what’s worth playing this year.

Whether you play on mobile or desktop, gaming is getting bigger and better, with the launch of many new games in the near future. So what are some of the best upcoming games you should be looking forward to? Let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated mobile games coming out in 2022.

Plants vs. Zombies 3

If you can’t wait for the next full release of Plants vs. Zombies 3, PvZ2 is a great way to get warmed up while you’re waiting.

The third version of the game features over 100 plant types that players can collect and upgrade to defend their gardens from zombies coming from all directions in both defense and offense modes. Players can also collect special plants by completing quests during games or purchasing them using coins earned during gameplay, making PvZ3 a good option if you want some variety without spending any money at all.

The entire experience is free-to-play, with optional microtransactions available; however, there’s an option to unlock everything within the game without paying anything upfront using your Google Play account balance. So if you want a chance at unlimited access without playing through hours of ads or spending real money, now’s your chance!

Pokemon Sleep

There is little information about Pokemon Sleep as yet, but it’s already got die-hard Pokemon fans hyped up!

It is likely to be an app that will track your sleep, with players earning rewards based on how well they sleep. So, instead of gamers conforming to the stereotype of staying awake for half the night to complete the next level of their game, they’ll instead be rewarded for getting an early night – different, right?

Although we don’t yet know many details about the game, it’s Pokemon, so it’s hardly going to be disappointing!

GTA Trilogy

The GTA Trilogy needs little introduction. Anyone who has played the games on a PC or console will know just how incredible they are. Being able to play the classic games anywhere, anytime, is definitely something to get excited about!

It is a massive re-release of the GTA trilogy, containing GTA: San Andreas, GTA III, and GTA: Vice City.

In GTA: San Andreas, you’ll explore a map based on the LA of the 1990s; the plot is quite strongly influenced by actual events taking place there at the time. It’s often regarded as one of the best video games ever made, so it’s clear to see why players are excited about the mobile iteration!

GTA III might have originally been released way back in 2001, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less popular today. It’s the first game in the series to be set in a 3D open world, rather than giving players a top-down perspective. Vice City is loosely based on Miami, with players and critics praising the original game’s soundtrack, storyline, and map.

Apex Legends Mobile

The next mobile game we’re looking forward to is Apex Legends Mobile. It’s a free-to-play battle royale game that was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in February 2019. The mobile version isn’t due out until 2022, but it already has us excited.

The game is a spin-off of Titanfall—it’s developed by Respawn Entertainment (who also made the original Titanfall games). Apex Legends hits all the same beats as its predecessors; you’re dropped into an arena with 99 other players and must scavenge for weapons and ammo while fighting off other competitors until only one team remains. You can level up your character through completing challenges or earning experience points from defeating enemies or completing missions.

Dauntless Mobile

Dauntless is a free-to-play action RPG that’s cross-platform, so you can play it on iOS and Android (and maybe even PC). It’s set in a fantastical world full of monsters and heroes who slay them. The gameplay revolves around co-op missions and dynamic matchmaking, which means you don’t have to wait for other players to join your game—the game will automatically find other players for you to play with.
