CI Games: “We definitely have that Lords of the Fallen 2 in our plans”

In a recent report made by the online UK publication, Eurogamer, CI Games intentionally planned Lords of the Fallen 2 to release some time in 2017, but it seems that the studio did some changes on that release window. CI Games announced that they won’t be developing blockbuster titles due to the failure of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.

Tomasz Gop, the person leading the Lords of the Fallen series, was recently let go by CI Games. Speaking to Eurogamer:

“I was let go because of a reduction in team, in scope, in budget, in business approach. Almost two years I’ve been working on the sequel and I have not seen it leave the concept/vision stage. I was working on something I was really 100 percent into and we were not producing the game.

There came a time when Sniper [Ghost Warrior 3] was the most important thing for CI, the next big hit. It also might have been the reason why Lords was not progressing as fast. Of course it’s not uncommon knowledge that [SGW3] didn’t go exactly according to plan, especially if it goes for sales. And here we are.”

The removal of Gop from CI Games made the development of Lords of the Fallen 2 worse, especially that, according to Gop, it didn’t come out yet from its concept/vision stage. However, Marek Tyminski from CI Games told Eurogamer that a sequel is indeed part of their plan but it’s not in any way yet happening soon.

“It goes for the Lords of the Fallen sequel as well. It doesn’t mean that we are not continuing with Lords of the Fallen – we definitely have that game in our plans and we definitely want to make this a great game. We’re very serious about Lords of the Fallen the sequel. It’s nothing like going halfway: this is definitely the quality way.”

Do you think we will be seeing Lords of the Fallen 2 in the future? Or will it go down the drain?
