Rumors have started to surface about the next installment of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.
This was first reported by Comic Book‘s Liam Robertson where sources indicated that the next Assassin’s Creed title will be settling on the lands of Greece in fall 2019. According to Robertson, he already heard about the plans way back when Assassin’s Creed Origins was still in development. It was originally planned to be in Assassin’s Creed Origins, but Egypt was the option that Ubisoft went and that Greece will be the next location in mind for the next entry.
“As with any rumor, I would advise readers taking it with a pinch of salt; even one as well corroborated as this one. Having said that, the setting of Greece would chime with other murmurs I had heard from earlier on in the development of Assassin’s Creed Origins (previously codenamed Empire),” said Robertson in his report. “In 2015, there had been suggestions from Ubisoft sources that Greece might appear in the game, but that Egypt would be the focus. Later, these same sources began to report that Greece would instead be saved for the game that would follow Origins.”
He also mentioned that the development began shortly after Assassin’s Creed Origins gone gold last year. Like most Assassin’s Creed games, the development duration is usually two years which is on point. Looks like we will have a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2019.
