The PlayStation 5 Reveal Event was shown successfully just recently and has featured a lot of video games from different game studios. Some come from indie studios and others from large gaming companies. These games particularly showcased tons of gameplay and cinematics that only a next-generation console could achieve, which the PlayStation 5 could do.
According to PlayStation Chief Executive Jim Ryan, there was a purpose for showing these games.
Ryan revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment wanted the triple-A games to show the full prowess of the next-generation console system PS5. Since these types of games usually push the hardware to its limits with the sheer amount visual resources they want to display, it would be the best way to demo what the PS5’s hardware could do.
And it sure did showcase the power of the PS5 especially with upcoming video game Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Jumping through different dimensions was seamless and viewers could not see any loading times while the two heroes jumped from one dimension to another. Horizon: Forbidden West also showed how the PS5 hardware could handle the heavy cinematics of this game.
The reveal event did also feature smaller games, which surprisingly showcased very cool and innovative use of the new features of the upcoming next-generation console. Stray and Kena: Bridge of Spirits were two amazing games that showcased the visual power of the PS5. Cinematics looked so beautiful and gameplay was almost seamless and almost realistic.
“And this is just the start,” according to Ryan. “There are so many more games that we have in development.”
Fans can look forward to more PS5 presentations in the future featuring more games and hopefully specifications of the console like the price tag. The next-gen console will be available holiday 2020.
