According to one report, the next-generation console PlayStation 5 can actually play ALL PlayStation 4 games.

Streamer Lance McDonald recently posted on his personal Twitter account this report and added that even all of those other games that Sony Interactive Entertainment did not approve are actually playable. He is famous for his content of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. The original tweet was deleted, but gaming forum ResetEra has archived it thankfully.

According to McDonald, the PS5 console can run all PS4 games without per-game whitelisting. SIE is continuing to test the games, but in actuality the system will not prevent players from launching the untested games.

The tweet got deleted quickly, but McDonald posted that he did that to respect the platform holder. It is up to the reader to interpret the post however they like. It was not clear if he was asked to delete the post or he did it for himself, but regardless the info is now circulated on the internet.

This would be an outstanding move for SIE if this were true after the negative feedback they got from the gaming community due to their latest announcement. The company revealed that the DualShock 4 controller was not compatible with the PS5, which got poorly received by the fans. Hopefully they will change their stance on this, but for now if the tweet is true then that will soften the blow.
