Xbox Series S Not Capable of Particular Xbox One X Enchancements

Microsoft has recently confirmed in a statement that the upcoming second next-gen console Xbox Series S will not have this particular feature that the Xbox One X has.

According to GameSpew after asking Microsoft for a response, the next-gen console Xbox Series S will definitely be more powerful overall than the Xbox One X. It does have one missing feature that the latter takes advantage of. When playing classic games with the backwards compatibility feature, the Xbox Series S cannot offer visual enhancements that the Xbox One X has.

Here is the statement Microsoft gave to the publication for clarification:

Xbox Series S was designed to be the most affordable next generation console and play next generation games at 1440P at 60fps. To deliver the highest quality backwards compatible experience consistent with the developer’s original intent, the Xbox Series S runs the Xbox One S version of backward compatible games while applying improved texture filtering, higher and more consistent frame rates, faster load times and Auto HDR.

As clear as it can be, Microsoft has confirmed it will only have Xbox One S version of backward compatible games and not the X version. It still has the enhancements like improved texture filtering, better frame raters, auto HDR, and faster load times. There are several features missing like up to 4K resolutions, and expanded color detail.

It is actually not that big of a difference, but it is still there. Now it is up to the consumers if they still want the Xbox Series S for their next-gen console choice.

In a related news, it was rumored that a third next-gen Xbox console is in the works right now.
