Forza Horizon 5 EventLab Allows Players to Build Structures Anywhere They Like

EventLab follows strict rules though, but one can be creative.

Media outlet WCCFTech recently was part of a group interview for Forza Horizon 5 with Creative Director Mike Brown from Playground Games talking about the feature EventLab and more.

The EventLab mode is based on Playground Game’s own internal design tools. It has its limitations, but it basically allows players to create custom game modes that will be built on a rules-based system. It can also allow them to build structures in some areas. The ones that were shown during the E3 demo was only in the stadium, so everyone was curious if it can be built outside those buildings.

Brown shared that the stadium was the perfect place to build because it was a blank spacious area where players will not have any issues with topography and such. He did state that there are other places that players can build their circuits if they want to but bear in mind they will have to explore the topography of the area first. There are “invisible collisions” that will stop players from building, but aside from that, they can build anywhere.

The creative director also reiterated that Forza Horizon 5 EventLab is an in-depth rule editor and will follow certain rules. Players can piece these rules together and create something that the developers do not even know what the output will be afterwards. It is highly in-depth and creative, but also limits it to some rules.

Forza Horizon 5 launches on November 5, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
