Genshin Impact has recently introduced new characters for players to pull with the launch of update 2.1 and those who are playing it on the PlayStation consoles get to have Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn for free. Here the important details to learn about this particular character in this guide.
How to Get Aloy in Genshin Impact
Aloy is free to get in Genshin Impact right now. In 2.1, PlayStation console players can get her if they have Adventure Rank 20. They will get a new message with her character attached and her weapon the Predator Bow. In 2.2, PC and mobile players will get her for free as well, but there will be no accompanying bow.
Who is Aloy?
Aloy is the protagonist of video game Horizon: Zero Dawn. She is a former outcast and now a hunter that helps his people fight a crisis before it goes all bad. She is a burst damage dealer and a Cryo Vision with a constellation of Nora Fortis.
Aloy is a 5 Star character while the Predator Bow is a 4 Star weapon.
Aloy Rating
At best, Aloy is only second best compared to the top-tiered characters in the roster right now in Genshin Impact like Raiden Shogun Baal and more. She is easy to understand when it comes to her battle style since it is straightforward. Great for beginners of the game without the need for combining several characters for elemental attacks and such. Her Elemental Burst attack is quite challenging to use especially when you want to make use of all the bomblets that drop after the Cryo bomb she throws.
Aloy Abilities/Skills
Normal Attack: Rapid Fire
- Normal Attack – 4 consecutive bow shots.
- Charge Attack – Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, biting frost will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged frost arrow will deal Cryo DMG.
- Plunge Attack – Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Frozen Wilds
Aloy throws a Freeze Bomb that explodes upon impact. The Freeze Bomb then splits up into Chillwater Bomblets that explode upon contact with enemies after a short delay. Both bomb types deal Cryo DMG. When either bomb type hits an enemy, the opponent’s attack is reduced and Aloy gets 1 Coil stack. Aloy can gain up to 1 Coil Stack every 0.1s.
Coil
- Each stack increases Aloy’s Normal ATK DMG.
- At 4 stacks, all stacks are cleared. Aloy then enters the Rushing Ice state, which further increases her Normal ATK DMG and converts her Normal ATKs to Cryo DMG.
- While in this state, Aloy can’t obtain new stacks. Coil effects will be cleared 30s after Aloy leaves the field.
Prophecies of Dawn
Aloy throws a Power Cell filled with Cryo at a targeted direction, then detonates it with an arrow, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
Aloy Passive Talents
Combat Override
When Aloy gains a Coil stack, it increases the party’s ATK during its duration.
Strong Strike
Aloy’s Cryo DMG gets increased during Rushing Ice.
Easy Does It
When Aloy is in the party, animals who produce Fowl, Raw Meat or Chilled Meat will not be startled when approached.

Best Team Composition
According to Reddit, some users agree that teaming up Aloy with the Kazuha, Xingqiu, Diona or Kokomi works wonders. It does a “perma-freeze” move with these characters in one team. Others suggest Tartaglia, Aloy, Zhongli, and Diona for a team. It combines Aloy with Tartaglia’s attacks that can set up for the Freeze Reactions, Zhongli will decrease Elemental RES and offers a shield for Aloy while Diona can provide Elemental Resonance.
