Game company Square Enix has once again teased fans that Final Fantasy XIV could be coming to another platform, the Xbox consoles sometime in the future.
In a new interview with YouTuber Easy Allies via media outlet TheGamer, Game Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida has somewhat hinted that Square Enix and Microsoft are in talks and it seems the conversations are “positive” in tone.
“I feel bad for saying the same thing every time,” Yoshida shared in the interview. “- but we are still in discussions with Microsoft, and I feel like our discussions are going in a positive-like tone.”
Yoshida then stated that he does not want to say that they do not have an Xbox version, but he is hoping that the timing will be very soon that he will have something to share with the fans. While everyone wants to know more about this subject, and he also states that he has a lot of things to say about it too, but he cannot share the details right now. He wants the fans and the Xbox players to wait for the time to come and be patient.
The game director did say in the past that there are “no obstacles for developing the Xbox version,” and the only issue is the development resources. This new interview might have given us a hint that there could have been big changes that have happened and the Xbox version might be coming soon than they have been expecting.
Final Fantasy XIV is now available on PC, PS4, and PS5. The Endwalker expansion will be released on November 23, 2021.
