MLB The Show 23 includes a Co-Op feature that is frequently used in Diamond Dynasty called Ranked Co-Op Mode, a unique game mode where players team up with other players online in 2v2 or 3v3 to compete against other co-op teams and climb up the leaderboards. But how do you play Ranked Co-Op and how does the mode work? Here’s what you need to know.
What is Ranked Co-op Mode in MLB The Show 23?
As mentioned above, Diamond Dynasty features an original feature called Ranked Co-op, in which players can form teams of two or three to compete against other co-op teams online in 2v2 or 3v3 matches. Players will not only work together with others online, but their individual scores will decide the outcome, and rewards will be multiplied by a factor of three compared to Ranked Solo Mode. The goal is to win as many games as possible and climb the rankings to become the top team.
How to Play Ranked Co-Op Mode
To play with other players online in Ranked Co-op Mode, you will need to remember the following steps:
- On the Main Menu of the game, head to Diamond Dynasty and select the Play tab
- Afterwards, select Online Modes and click on Ranked
- Upon selecting Ranked, there will be a menu that let players choose either Co-Op or Solo. Obviously choosing Ranked is the goal so click it and players will enter this team-up feature.
Do note that internet connectivity is important, as players who suddenly are disconnected while playing either solo or co-op mode will face a major penalty.
Ranked Co-Op Mode Tips and Tricks
Ranked co-op in MLB The Show 23 is a unique twist on the standard gameplay. Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Communicate effectively – You need to communicate with your teammate to coordinate your strategies and be on the same page. You can use voice or text chat to communicate.
- Build a balanced team – Ensure that your team has a mix of players who can hit for power, get on base, and play good defense. Have both left and right-handed hitters.
- Practice pitching – Pitching is essential in ranked co-op. Practice throwing strikes and mixing up your pitches to keep the opponent off balance.
- Observe your opponent – Watch your opponent’s tendencies and adjust your strategy accordingly. If they swing at high pitches, throw more high pitches. If they struggle against left-handed pitchers, have a left-handed pitcher on the mound.
- Be patient – Ranked co-op can be frustrating, especially when losing. Keep practicing and working on your skills. Stay patient and don’t get discouraged. Eventually, you’ll start winning more games.
