Monster Hunter Wilds has made its appearance at Gamescom 2024. With a new teaser trailer shown at the event, fans get a glimpse of what new areas and monsters they will face once it launches for the next-generation consoles.

Monster Hunter Wilds 3rd Trailer Lala Barina & Scarlet Forest Reveal

Lala Barina & Scarlet Forest are the two new maps that were added to Monster Hunter Wilds. These areas have shown players what possible monsters they will face including a new monster called Lala Barina.

The Lala Barina is a Temnoceran that resides in the Scarlet Forest. Its thorax, which can be opened at will, resembles a rose in bloom. Aside from this deadly monster, an Apex Predator was also shown in this trailer and it is called the Rey Dau.

The Rey Dau is a Flying Wyvern that rules the Windward Plains as its apex predator. It has adapted to the lightning that accompanies the Sandtide, with most sightings having occurred during the storm. Its ability to discharge electricity in powerful attacks poses a threat to even the most experienced hunters.

Aside from the monsters and new maps shown in the trailer, there are new characters that will accompany players in your hunting quests. First is Olivia, a hammer-wielding member of the Hunter’s Guild Forbidden Lands Expedition Team. She previously took on special missions from the Guild but has since been assigned to the Forbidden Lands. She can assist the Hunter as a Support Hunter during quests. The other is Athos, a palico who accompanies Olivia.

Monster Hunter Wilds is expected to launch in 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). For more info about the game, check out their main website.
