Bloober Team, the development studio recognized for its work on the Silent Hill 2 Remake, has released a new episode of its Developer Diary series for the upcoming survival horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. The latest video provides an in-depth look into the game’s narrative and lore as its September 5, 2025, launch date approaches.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game centered on a complex narrative that unfolds in Nowa Huta, a district of Kraków, Poland. The story is told across two distinct timelines: a post-apocalyptic future and the district’s industrial reality in the 1980s. This unique setting blends elements of gritty retro realism with dystopian science fiction to create its tense atmosphere.
The new Developer Diary episode features comments from Game Producer Klaudia Sewera and Lead Narrative Designer and Writer Grzegorz Like. They discuss key story elements, including the reasons for humanity’s collapse, the mysterious role of the protagonist known as The Traveler, and the enigmatic Warden. The developers explore themes such as the process of extracting souls, the purpose of the Travelers, and the complex journey through time and identity that the game presents.

The Dev Diary also offers a closer look at a new character, The Warden, who was first introduced in a recent story trailer. The Warden, voiced by actor Alan Turkington, is described as an enigmatic Traveler whose philosophy is in stark contrast to that of the protagonist. He oversees a hub where players will spend a significant amount of time during the game.
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release on September 5, 2025, on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
