Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have unveiled the first look at the difficulty design in Ninja Gaiden 4, highlighting a system that dynamically scales with player skill. Expect aggressive AI, shifting enemy placement, and multiple difficulty levels that honor the series’ punishing roots.
For newcomers, the game introduces a Hero Mode and adjustable assists to help ease players into its signature fast-paced, high-skill combat. In a series first, Ninja Gaiden 4 also includes a standalone training mode, giving players the perfect arena to sharpen their skills before diving into the main campaign.
Real Swords and Custom Controllers
Ahead of the showcase, fans also got a surprise reveal: legendary swordsmith Yuya Nakanishi crafted real-life versions of Ryu Hayabusa’s Dragon Sword and new protagonist Yakumo’s Takeminakata, celebrating the franchise’s legacy and future.
Additionally, special Ninja Gaiden 4 Xbox Design Lab controllers—including both standard and Elite Series 2 editions—have been made available, letting players bring a piece of the game into their hands.

Ninja Gaiden 4 officially launches on October 21. Players who preorder will unlock the Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo Skin at launch, while the Deluxe Edition includes bonus cosmetics, exclusive in-game items, and access to future DLC content: The Two Masters.
