Creative Assembly and SEGA have officially unveiled Alien: Isolation 2, the long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game, during Summer Game Fest 2026.
The announcement came alongside a debut trailer that offered a first glimpse at the next chapter in the Alien: Isolation series, which once again pits players against one of science fiction’s most terrifying predators: the Xenomorph.
Alien: Isolation 2 introduces a brand-new story, setting, and protagonist while retaining the tense survival horror gameplay that made the original game a fan favorite. This time, players will find themselves on a remote colony world battered by relentless storms, where survival depends on navigating both the hostile environment and the ever-present threat stalking them from the shadows.
The sequel takes players across the planet’s dangerous surface before leading them into the claustrophobic corridors of Kurosaki Station, a Weyland-Yutani outpost that serves as the primary hunting ground for the Alien. Creative Assembly says players will need to improvise and adapt using new tools, techniques, and survival strategies as they attempt to outsmart the deadly creature.
According to Creative Director Al Hope, the development team has spent years building upon the foundations of the original game. The sequel promises a more intelligent Xenomorph, harsher environments, and even greater tension as players fight to stay alive.
“It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel,” said Hope. “Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer.”
Alien: Isolation 2 is currently available to wishlist on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, with Nintendo Switch 2 wishlist support planned for a later date. A release date has not yet been announced.
