Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment has warned their customers that the PlayStation 5 launch-day sales will only be done online.
SIE Content Communications Senior Director Sid Shuman recently posted on the official PlayStation Blog about the launch-day sales of the upcoming next-gen consoles PS5. He shared to customers that on November 12(or November 19, depending on their region), they will have to purchase the units online only. This is to keep them, the retails, and staff safe amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shuman clarified that there will be physical units available for purchase in-store on launch day. He warned that nobody should be camping out or lining up at their local retailer on launch day in hopes on getting a unit for purchase. They want them to stay at home, be safe, and just purchase online.
Customers who have already pre-ordered the game console for pick-up at their local retailer should still be able to do so at their designated appointment time, under the retailer’s safety protocols.
PlayStation 5 is launching on November 12 in the US, Japan, and select few countries. The rest of the world will get it on November 19.
