The latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct showed us the new paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise, where you can go to a new archipelago, work for a resort developer, and design dream vacation houses depending on your client’s preferences.
It is important that you will need to get their feedback on what they want in their vacation homes. Location is important to match their tastes. Then you take a quick tour of the home, place the furniture that the client requested, and then you can do almost everything else that you think would look great.
You can also design the yard by adding furniture, fences, trees, and even paths. The home exterior and even the season and time of day can also be modified.
Keep designing more homes and you’ll be able to get some design techniques such as being able to adjust the width and length of the interior, you can add partitions, counters, pillars, to change how it’s structured, even lighting, and soundscapes to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the home. You will also get the “polishing” technique where you polish furniture and with enough proper polishing, the furniture can get some unique effects.
You will get compensated for your efforts and there is a shop space in the office that’s available that will sell some furniture that you don’t normally find on your island.
Clients can even share vacation homes if you recommend it to them.
There are many buildings in the islands that are vacant and you are free to remake them.
You can design facilities like schools, restaurants, and so much more.
There’s also a new NookPhone app called Happy Home Network and from the app, you can visit the homes of previous clients to catch up with them. When you connect online you can connect with other people to share your work and see their designs. You can follow people to see their designs and get inspiration for your own.
You can use the things you learned when you were working with the paradise planning team can be used on your own island. You can experiment and polish your furniture to enhance your homes even further.
You can gift your islands residents with souvenirs from the archipelago which might get them interested to go and even ask you to design a vacation home for them. When you design a certain number of homes you might be able to suggest a design for your island’s residents.
The DLC launches on Nov 5 for $24.99, with pre-orders starting on October 29 on the Nintendo eShop. You can purchase the DLC on its own or as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
The 5th series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards will be available with 48 cards which include characters that were previously not in amiibo cards and will be released at the same time as the update.
