Larian Studios has now rolled back Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix 4 after players discovered numerous crashes after installing it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 4 Rolled Back

Yesterday, Larian released the fourth hotfix for the game to introduce new fixes, changes, and whatnot. Unfortunately, after a few hours, players were quick to post online to complain about the crashes that they encountered while playing. The studio was quick to action and instantly rolled back to make the game playable again.

“Due to a build error causing new crashes, we’ve rolled back Hotfix 4 for the time being. We’ll re-release it as soon as we’ve fixed the cause,” reads the statement. “If you’ve saved since updating, you won’t be able to load those saves until we’ve re-published Hotfix 4. Sorry about the inconvenience.”

Back to Hotfix 3

The studio also said to rectify the issue and keep it playable, it rolled back to Hotfix 3. Unfortunately, players who have saves from Hotfix 4 cannot be loaded until it is pushed live again. Players who have saves before the hotfix can load those and continue playing but those who only have one save (why do you have only one save though?) and continued to Hotfix 4 will have to wait.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PC. PS5 version will be released on September 6, 2023 and preloads start on August 31, 2023.
