In Warzone 2, the M4 is undeniably one of the most reliable and balanced weapons in the game. Thanks to the improvements in Gunsmith 2.0, you now have more control over attachments and fine-tuning your guns. With the right setup, the M4 can be used all-around in combat. In this guide, we’ll show you the best M4 loadout and what attachments to use, including perks and equipment.
Best M4 Warzone 2 Loadout
You’ll use the default M4 receiver to use the base M4 gun. However, the attachments you build from there are truly what’s going to make this gun shine.
For starters, you’ll need the attachments below and their fine tunings for the best M4 setup you can run in Warzone 2.
- Barrel: Hightower 20”
- + Recoil Steadiness
- + Damage Range
- Optic: Aim Op – V4
- + Aim Down Sight Speed
- + Far Eye Position
- Muzzle: Harbinger D20
- + Aim Down Sight Speed
- + Bullet Velocity
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
- + Bullet Velocity
- + Damage Range
- Magazine: 45 Round Mag
Starting off with the Barrel and Muzzle mods, the Hightower 20” and Harbinger D20 offers you a solid balance of ADS speed with Damage Range and Bullet Velocity, pair it with the High Velocity 5.56 ammunition, it could increase the damage sent out to mid-range encounters. The Aim OP-V4 optic is a simple optic that you could run around, and when tuned for ADS speed, this M4 setup can make for quick target acquisition, especially around corners. Lastly, the 45 Round Mag, this could prove to be a slightly controversial choice of attachment, instead of opting out for the bigger 60 Round Mag, the 45 Round Mag can still have enough ammo without having the mobility penalties.

Best M4 Loadout Perks and Equipment
These are the best Perks and Equipment you can have for your M4 Warzone Loadout.
Perks
- Perk 1: Overkill
- Perk 2: Tracker or Double Time
- Perk 3: Fast Hands
- Ultimate Perk: Ghost
The Overkill perk is the most used perk around for a long time, this and a second Primary of your choice makes for a deadly operator. Then comes the Tracker perk, very useful in chasing down that enemy you fail to take out in one mag, or the Double Time perk for running that Tactical Sprint for longer. The Fast Hands perk also proves to be the most useful in this Perk Package, since it takes less time to switch between weapons and reloading, this perk can save you in the most intense gunfights. For the Ultimate Perk, Ghost always comes in handy, as it can let you go under UAVs, Heartbeat Sensors and Portable Radars. But, be careful though, as the Ghost perk can now be countered by the Birdseye perk and UAV combo. You will have to keep moving and changing positions even with the Ghost perk.
Equipment
- Lethal: Drill Charge
- Tactical: Smoke Grenades
With Warzone equipment, the Smoke Grenade and Drill Charge proves to be the most useful. With Drill Charges, you can either flush out enemies that are hiding in buildings or even take a chunk out of their armor plates while your squadmates can rush into the building. Smoke Grenades, however, can serve you two ways. Whether it be to provide cover while in open areas and concealing movements into rotations or to conceal your approach of hardened enemy positions.
