CD Projekt RED recently announced five new projects, including a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, some new Witcher projects, and a new upcoming IP.

CD Projekt RED Near Future Content Releases

It was revealed that the developers are planning to add online multiplayer for their future titles. They clarified current titles will not get multiplayer features which meant Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher series will stay single-player experiences. Also, it was revealed that The Witcher 3 new-gen versions will be released later this year while the new DLC expansion Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in 2023.

The Future of CDPR Games

A sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 has been revealed with a codename called Orion. According to the post on the official Twitter account of CDPR, it will take the franchise further and continue to harness the potential of this dark future universe.

Polaris is the next installment in The Witcher series and is currently in pre-production. This will be the start of a new saga. There will be two more Witcher games after Polaris which will start a new AAA RPG trilogy.

Canis Majoris is another game based on the Witcher franchise and will be a separate title from the new Witcher saga that starts with Polaris. This will be developed by an external studio that is headed by experienced developers that have worked already with previous Witcher games. They have not named which titles.

Sirius is another project that will be developed by Molasses Flood, which will be set in The Witcher universe and supported by CDPR. This will be quite different from the previous games. This will be one of the games that will offer multiplayer gameplay on top of the single-player experience with a campaign, quests, and a story.

Lastly is Hadar, a new IP initiated by CDPR. It is currently in its earliest stages in the creative process. Development is still not happening, but this will be worked on exclusively on the foundation of a new setting.

Excitement from Community Grows

Fans are pretty excited about these new announcements as CD Projekt RED is keeping them in the loop rather than keeping them in the dark. They appreciate that the developers are sharing what they are planning for the future and wish them the best.
