A recent report has revealed that the heads of game studio CD Projekt RED will be getting big bonuses even though controversial video game Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled launch.

According to Bloomberg Video Game Reporter Jason Schreier, CEOs Marcin Iwinski and Adam Kicinski will both receive around $6.3 million each. This will be their end of the year bonus. Board Member and Game Director Adam Badowski will receive $4.2 million.

NEW: following the flop of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt board members are set to receive huge bonuses ranging from $4 to $6 million. Meanwhile, some employees say they got lower bonuses than expected because the board wouldn’t delay the game: https://t.co/VaPeOqNfSx

Schreier revealed that other board members will receive huge bonuses ranging from $4 to $6 million. The employees will be getting lower bonuses than expected because the board would not delay the game.

The employees told Schreier that their bonuses will range from $5k to $20k only. A spokesperson from CDPR revealed that the average was $34K. The staff expected to have more since it was their first big game in five years and the bonuses were tied to profit-sharing. It would have been higher if the game did not have a problematic launch.

The spokesperson revealed that the game company has allocated $29.8 million for bonuses to 865 employees. $28 million were allocated for bonuses to five board members.

There is some good news for the employees though. One of them revealed that after Bloomberg’s reporting and many internal reviews and complaints, there was a change. CDPR did a salary reevaluation and increased the salary for everyone, even the lowest-paid staff. This includes the QA personnel. At least that is good news.

Let us just hope the developers will work hard this time around to make improvements for Cyberpunk 2077 to finally get us the game we were expecting.
