CAPCOM has revealed that its future games will have cross-play support.

CAPCOM Representative Director Haruhiro Tsujimoto was recently interviewed by Famitsu talking about their games having cross-play support. It was revealed that Exoprimal was the catalyst for this idea of adding cross-play support to upcoming new titles. He said that its development was partially fueled by the desire to gain that experience and expertise.

Tsujimoto believes that CAPCOM will need to develop more games like Exoprimal in the near future. This new upcoming game will now serve as testing grounds for the company’s future.

Aside from cross-play support, the executive also talked about the upcoming video game Street Fighter 6. If Street Fighter V sold over 7 million copies in its lifetime, he thinks Street Fighter 6 will most likely sell over 10 million copies, overcoming its predecessor. This is the reason for CAPCOM to put everything it wanted to do with the game, including more eSports focus and genre expansion.

Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2, 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
