Several players who played Cyberpunk 2077 on standard PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have reported a lot of issues.
According to some players, they are experiencing severe frame rate issues when they boot up the game on the PS4 and Xbox One. It was also reported that aside from slowdowns, it also suffers from a lot of bugs and glitches, and it even happens on the PC version. Even though the game now has two updates installed and fixes have been introduced, it still suffers from many issues.
Eurogamer shared that the PS4 version has poor performance with low framerate and texture pop-in when the screen is busy. There also times that there are low-res blur happening to the visuals.
Digital Foundry found out that according to their analysis on the PS4 base version, the game’s framerate would barely maintain 30fps and would sometimes go down to 15fps.
Others even report that the game would have resolutions running from 720p to 900p. There were also reports saying that Xbox One has the same issue as well.
In other related news, it seems the Stadia version is gaining a lot of attention since it runs smoothly there. According to The Verge’s Tom Warren, he played the game on a Chrome browser on a 1440p display on performance mode and it runs smoothly like on high spec PC. Others players on Reddit testify the same results. Some even played it on a low-end laptop and they say it is running perfectly.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, Xbox One, Stadia, and PlayStation 4. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades are coming next year.
