Cyberpunk 2077 Not Getting Rumored Metro System Feature

CD Projekt RED has recently released the major Cyberpunk 2077 update version 1.5, which introduced new features and a lot of fixes. Now players are wondering if this particular rumor they have been hearing about was going to be in the next one.

Update 1.5 was a really large update that gave substantial improvements to the game, but unfortunately it has some issues with the PS4 platform right now. It does, however, introduce tons of features including some that revolved around transportation. Since it seems transportation is getting upgrades, players were now wondering if the rumor about the Metro system was going to be implemented in the future.

For those who are confused about this, it simply means a train system similar to the US’ Metro system was going to be added to the game. Players who do not have working vehicles at the moment or just wanted to have a change of pace would just jump into a train car and let it transport them to another part of Night City. It would be kind of cool, right?

Sorry to be the buzz killer but that’s not it. There are no plans to add metro to the game.

Sorry to burst your bubbles guys, but CDPR’s Global Community Director Marcin Momot has some bad news. Momot replied to a recent Twitter post with an image attached that featured a pop up window in-game showing a domain under construction. It seems to be the representation of the Metro system in the game as some promotional images had V riding a car.

Momot clarified that there are no plans to add the Metro system to the game. This is quite understandable since it would be quite a big job to make. A fully functioning Metro system that would transport players to different parts of Night City would take a lot of effort, resources and time since the map is quite big and the game itself is quite large in terms of file size. Adding that would just bloat the large file size even further.

Besides, the vehicle system in the game is quite good already. Players can literally just steal other vehicles if they need a quick getaway too. Having a Metro system is redundant.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Update 1.5 has been released across all platforms.
