A new record from a website has revealed that the Cyberpunk 2077 player numbers have now increased a lot after the latest update got released.
According to the popular website SteamDB, the concurrent player numbers in Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam yesterday quickly peaked at 37,000, which beat Elden Ring on 31,000. It nearly caught up with titles with a huge multiplayer base like Grand Theft Auto 5, and Destiny 2, but still, those numbers are quite high for just one day.
Last month before the announcement of the Edgerunner update, Cyberpunk 2077 only got the highest number of players at 16,000. After the announcement, that number doubled and more.
The biggest reason for the big increase in player numbers would be due to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a new cyberpunk series based on the game. This convinced fans who have already moved on to try it out again after they saw the protagonist’s overpowering build that could stop time. Some have tried to duplicate it with some luck. There are some videos out there with the same build but it did not have the unlimited time stop ability compared to the Edgerunner protagonist.
Another reason for the return of players is the new update, which introduced Edgerunner content, new features, the ability to change the look of your outfits, and tons of fixes.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
