Cyberpunk 2077 Has Content That Can Trigger Epileptic Seizures (UPDATE)

According to a recent report online, upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077 has content that could trigger epileptic seizures.

Game Informer’s recent report revealed that the game has some areas that could trigger epileptic seizures. This is due to the many clubs and bars in Night City that have bright lights that blink quite erratically. Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, is also reported to might trigger seizures due to his blue glitch highlight effect.

The Braindance mechanic might also cause seizure according to the report. This allowed players to interact with memories of the deceased, which meant the character must use a headset that blasts their eyes with LEDs blinking in white and red. A hardware for medical purposes also has this effect to intentionally trigger seizures.

This could depend on the player though if they have the condition or someone who does not like too many bright, blinking lights flashed before their eyes. I, for one, do not like getting exposed to those kinds of lights for a long time, so I just look away for a moment and get back to the action when it is not that intense. But for those who have conditions, CD Projekt RED might offer accessibility options in the near future.

Update: CD Projekt RED responds. They are adding a new warning for the game and are looking for a permanent solution as soon as possible. So accessibility options are coming soon, so do not worry.
