Blizzard says that the Diablo 4 Beta issues have now helped them make a smoother launch for the upcoming public open beta this weekend and the full game.
According to Blizzard, while the early access open beta for Diablo 4 had come with a lot of issues, these issues actually helped them improve on the upcoming next open beta for the public and the official full launch. This helped them solve a lot of issues ahead of the open beta release. It was a blessing in disguise for them.
During the beta test, players have reported that it had long queues and some of them even complained that it would crash randomly. Others reported that it did not let them connect with friends during online multiplayer, which was frustrating for them.
Blizzard Executive Rod Fergusson recently spoke with NME in an interview telling them about the improvements they have done to the Diablo 4 beta. When it launches on March 24-26, 2023, it will have notable improvements.
“The word beta nowadays has kind of been misconstrued, where people start calling things beta that’s [actually] a marketing beta, and it’s just another term for a demo,” the boss said.
“That’s not our case at all. Our beta is actually us testing our technology – especially on the server side. We had a little bit of a rocky start on Friday.”
Fergusson also said that they have now released six hotfixes over the weekend, and solved dozens of issues, which will pay off next weekend. He says that it will pave the way for a successful official launch.
Diablo 4 launches on June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
