Diablo IV Hardcore Difficulty Permadeath Rumors Addressed by Blizzard

Blizzard has recently addressed rumors about the Diablo IV Hardcore Difficulty permadeath feature.

After announcing the game going gold, Blizzard has slowly shared some important tidbits about Diablo IV from game mechanics to rumors that get addressed. Some fans were curious about certain features like a while ago, the Tab Overlap Map, which was denied by the developers. This time around, one fan asked about the permadeath feature when on hardcore difficulty.

For those uninitiated, hardcore difficulty offers quite the challenge for the veterans who just want to take on tougher enemies after completing the main campaign. It has been a feature in previous titles and now the fans wonder if it will be available in the upcoming new title. It seems so with this latest reply.

Blizzard Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher recently responded to a fan asking about playing Hardcore and dying in PvP. They were wondering if they die in this mode, will there be Permadeath or is there another type of penalty to which Fletcher replied that it would be the former.

So for players who intend to play the game on hardcore difficulty and try out PvP, they might want to avoid getting killed recklessly because it is a Permadeath situation.

Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
