For the first time ever, Dota 2 is teaming up with Capcom’s iconic Monster Hunter franchise. The event runs from November 11, 2025 to February 6, 2026.
The Hunt

Players can grind for Monster Hunter–themed couriers and armor sets, all crafted using special materials. To get these materials, you’ll need to complete a couple of in-game tasks.
1. Hunt Your Target
You’ll be given a choice of three enemy heroes—pick your target and track them down. Your mission is simple: kill them before they kill you. You only get one chance. If they take you out first, you lose the opportunity to earn the materials tied to that hunt.
2. Win a Match
The second task is straightforward but challenging: win the match. And if you’ve played Dota long enough, you know winning—especially solo—is easier said than done. Better to team up with friends and hunt as a party!
Be aware that if you lose the match, half of the bounty you earned gets rejected, so every game counts.
The Hero Atlas
The Hero Atlas is a compendium where you can track the progress of every hero that appears in your matches. The icons you see are stylized artwork inspired by the Hunter’s Notes from the Monster Hunter series. This book also closely resembles the Hunter’s Notes, which record detailed information about various beasts and their markings.
Once a hero is unlocked in the Atlas, you can claim a sticker and multiple crafting materials—once per page. This encourages players to try different heroes, since playing new heroes gives you more rewards.
The more you play, the more the hero’s pictogram fills in with color from the bottom. Using that hero contributes more progress per match, and winning triples all progress. In fact, a single victory with a hero can completely fill an entire page.

Hunter Rank
Alongside the crafting system, there’s also a Hunter Rank. This works like a normal level-up track where you earn rewards every 10 levels. Each time you reach a new rank tier, you get a new badge and title that shows up on the draft screen during the event. Just like other Dota events, your progress depends on the XP you earn from matches. Winning gives more XP than losing, and Turbo matches give around two-thirds of the XP of a regular game.
Once you reach the max level, the Master Hunter Rank, you unlock a new Material Exchange where you can use your extra materials to craft Sticker Capsules.
For Normal matches, you earn 800 XP for a win and 300 XP for a loss. In Turbo mode, you get 500 XP for winning and 200 XP if you lose.

The Expedition Pack
The Expedition Pack is a paid extension to the event rewards that gives players a little extra of everything already included in the event. Normally, players can only craft the base hero sets and the base form of the Palico courier, but with the Pack, the enhanced, prismatic versions of these sets are available in tiers above the regular ones. To help players get started on these upgraded sets right away, the pack also comes with enough materials to craft all the base forms of every set. On top of that, it includes other rewards you can use immediately, like the event’s centerpiece: the Rathalos transformation for Dragon Knight.

I just hope they add a different game mode or some other unique feature beyond just cosmetics for this collaboration. That said, I’m really happy about this collab and excited for the future of Dota. With this event, the door is now open for other games to team up with Dota 2! It’s exciting to think about the possibilities—new heroes, crossover mechanics, and creative events could make every season feel fresh and unpredictable for players.
