Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a new DualSense firmware update app for PC.
A new PC app was released by SIE recently which now allows DualSense controller owners to not depend on the PS5 console to update the firmware. They can now instead just plug in their controllers to the PC desktop or laptop and boot up the firmware update app.
DualSense Firmware Update App PC Requirements
They will need to have a Windows 10 or 11 operating system to make this work. Other requirements include a storage space of 10 MB or more, the digital resolution should be 1024 x 768 or higher, and a USB port to plug in the cable.
DualSense Firmware Update PC App Steps
- Download the Firmware Updater app and save it on the desktop or other location. Get it here.
- Run the installation file and confirm the request to download additional software that will be needed for the app. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
- Click on the app icon and launch it.
- Get a USB cable and connect the DualSense controller to the Windows PC and just follow the on-screen instructions in order to start the update. After completing the updates, just click the OK button to finish it. Also, do not turn off the PC or disconnect the USB cable while updating, it might cause problems.
Only one DualSense controller at a time can be updated though so it will take longer to finish if you own multiple controllers.
