Game company Koei Tecmo has officially released the first gameplay trailer of upcoming video game Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.
The first gameplay trailer is now out and it showcases the different mechanics that DW9 Empires offers including some returning and new ones. From the video itself, it seems marriage is still available, which has been one of the many vital mechanics of the game. Pets might be introduced too with characters petting dogs or cats. There are mini-games as well, which could determine an outcome in a peaceful manner. There have been times in history where a game between two leaders determined the victor of a land dispute for example. This could be introduced here as well.
Invading and raiding forts and castles are still the norm, which is good. It can be the opposite as well, defending lands from invaders who want to claim it for their own.
Players can be an officer or an independent ruler, which is a very common feature in Empires games. They can either be benevolent or a villain that rules the lands with an iron fist. Hopefully, gameplay will not heavily depend on the history of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and would let the players decide how their playthroughs go.
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires launches on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It will be released sometime later this year. Here’s the official English website.
