Koei Tecmo announced in the State of Play last May that Dynasty Warriors will be returning once more on the major consoles. Recently, new information has surfaced revealing familiar characters that Dynasty Warriors fans are happy to see once more.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Story Summary
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the latest installment of the DW series which depicts the history of the Three Kingdoms during Ancient China. The story begins a year before the Yellow Turban Rebellion which was considered the beginning of a turbulent era when a nameless hero who is searching for answers about his identity visits a village suffering from famine. In that village, he meets Zhang Jiao and Guan Yu who both wish to stop and face off against the corruption of the government officials and save the people.
The story, which depicts the episodes of the Three Kingdoms in detail through the memory-lost protagonist, is designed to allow those who have previously come into contact with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Dynasty Warriors series, as well as those who have not, to easily experience the charm of the series.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Game Mechanics
In this game, players will be facing off against multiple enemies and will experience the history of the Three Kingdoms. Enemy soldiers attack in cooperation with each other, and they are very formidable, so you will need to not only rely on your strength but also advance with your allies to clear a path. Once you have pushed forward the front line and are ready, you can charge into the enemy army with your allies, and experience an unprecedented large-scale battlefield where a total of several thousand soldiers clash.
The vast world of the Three Kingdoms is depicted on a world map and players can choose which battlefield to join. Not only that, players can freely interact with heroes and roam freely.
As the main protagonist, you will be thrown into the heat of battle alongside the heroes of the Three Kingdoms. Not only are you adept with using swords, but countless weapons are ready for you to try and sweep away swarms of enemies. Plus, you can temporarily control the warlords marching alongside Guan Yu and the others. These unrivaled warlords, worthy of being called one of a thousand warriors, will become the protagonist’s strong allies with their overwhelming strength.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is set to be released next year, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). More info about the game will be announced soon.
