Game company Bethesda has recently announced that a new content will be coming to video game Fallout 76.
The new content that is scheduled for release next year is called Expeditions – The Pitt. This will be the return to Fallout’s post-apocalyptic version of Pittsburgh. This was actually an add-on to Fallout 3 way back in 2009. With the Expedition series, the game will expand beyond the Appalachia Mountain range and into different neighboring locations with the Pitt as one of them.
This new expansion will be very story-driven according to Lead Producer Jeff Gardiner. It will be geared towards repeat playthroughs. He did not completely confirm that this one will have branching paths, but with the recent updates, it might have the same pattern as well.
“We decided on the Pitt because it is local to West Virginia (where Fallout 76 is set) and it’s a great narrative location,” Gardiner explained. “The designers have thought long and hard about how to make content that is both fun and repeatable [The Pitt] has got really unique mechanics, a really cool story and repeatable content, so players can enjoy it [more than] once”.
Expect Fallout 76 next year to be more narrative-driven this time around and with the addition of this new expansion, the Pitt will surely make it come closer to the original Fallout games.
