Far Cry 6 Follows Formula of Combining Villain and Humor into One Package

What does Anton Castillo and Guapo the crocodile wearing a denim vest and a gold tooth? They are both important elements that make Far Cry 6!

Ubisoft Narrative Director Navid Khavari recently talked with media outlet GameSpot in an exclusive interview to discuss about what makes a Far Cry game.

“You can’t really have one without the other when you’re doing a Far Cry game,” started Khavari. “It’s all about balance.”

There is some truth to it though as many Far Cry titles use the same formula: have an iconic or very powerful villain (take Vaas for example) and then slap it with humor or some crazy mechanics with it. The end result is an awesome good time and a popular title to share to the gaming community.

“It’s about having powerful villains that will charm you and convince you of their opinions,” Khavari explained. “But marry that with some humor, some action-adventure.”

“The best sort of fiction, the best action adventure stories in games it’s all wrapped into one package, one unified package. And my job and the team’s job is making sure we find that balance.”

Having Anton Castillo, amigos Chorizo and Guapo into that one unified package? It seems Far Cry 6 will be one heck of a game to play!

Far Cry 6 launches October 7, 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC.
