Far Cry 6 creative leads have recently taken to Reddit to host an AMA answering a lot of questions about the upcoming game.
One of the questions asked by the fans was about Arcade Mode and map editor. It was revealed by the leads that both features will not be making an appearance in the upcoming game. This will be the first time in the franchise that there will be no map editor nor Arcade Mode.
“Removing this mode from our plan was a difficult decision, but allowed us to focus our efforts on the main campaign, transporting players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution,” said Game Director Alexandre Letendre.
Arcade Mode has been a staple in previous titles and it included features like a few number of maps and mission creation tools for fans to try out for their creativity. In the sixth title, it will not be brought back.
Letendre has also confirmed that the weapon tier system that was seen in New Dawn will not be making an appearance here too. Some believed it would be available here since they thought it was being tested in New Dawn in preparation for this game. Seems they were wrong.
There are other features that will be coming back to this iteration, which are grappling hook and the wingsuit. The companion system will be limited to two animals now. There will be other NPCs and other random AI companions that will join the fight, but they will not be permanent.
Far Cry 6 launches on October 7 for PlayStation 4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
