During the FF7 The First Soldier livestream, Game Director Tetsuya Nomura shared some details about what is new with the Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2.

Nomura first dropped the bombshell saying that Part 2 will be the direct sequel to the Yuffie Intermission part in Intergrade and it will have a different atmosphere.

Media outlet DualShockers translated the comments Nomura shared on the livestream. Check them out below:

Tetsuya Nomura: “I’ve seen a lot of comments during the livestream asking about the Remake‘s sequel. I was on a call with Kitase early this morning, before 9 AM. Obviously we knew fans would ask about the sequel during the stream, so he asked me to confirm how far I’d answer (laughs). He asked me about so many things I was surprised myself (laughs), and I told him I wouldn’t reveal that much.”

Tetsuya Nomura: “The game’s development has progressed quite a lot. And, well, we will properly announce the sequel when the time is right. And I can say Cloud will be running in the wilderness. The sequel’s atmosphere will be different from the first game. The game’s development is going very smoothly, so please wait for more information. Moreover, the sequel game will take place right after Intergrade, so please look forward to Intergrade as well.”

Nomura noted that when he mentioned about Cloud running through the wilderness, he meant that the sequel will have a world map like experience and not just fully linear. He encouraged everyone, especially the fans, that in order to understand the sequel they need to play Intergrade. Also the development of the sequel is going so well, which could mean the first trailer could be released soon.

No other details yet on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, but Intergrade launches on June 10 exclusively on PS5.

    Thanks DualShockers!
