Game Director Suggests Final Fantasy XIV to Continue Longer Than Expected

In an interview with media outlet The Washington Post, Game Director and Producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida shared some of his thoughts of their popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV and its future.

When Yoshida was asked about how long will FFXIV be supported by Square Enix and what is more to come, his response was rather interesting for the fans of the franchise. Writer Gene Park noted that “Yoshida said ‘Final Fantasy XIV’ may never end, as long as people keep returning.”

Yoshida did state that it could be supported at least another five more years of content and activities on its platforms, which are PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC.

Here is a statement:

Even now, our CEO is encouraging us to strive for more players and for 30 million adventurers, and he still has future plans for us. Luckily, we don’t see any stopping in our momentum. At one point we thought maybe we might plateau, but fortunately our player base just continues to expand and grow.

Expect more content to come in many, many years for Final Fantasy XIV.
