After a massive success, Square Enix is now considering to developer a Final Fantasy XVI DLC.
Final Fantasy XVI DLC Considered by Square Enix
Final Fantasy XVI Producer Naoki Yoshida previously stated that a DLC is being considered, but it will depend on the feedback from the fans after launch. Yoshi-P did say that the game experience is just a one-off game that would only be built upon if “players around the world want to see more of” Clive and the world of Valisthea. With the big success just the first week after launch, Square Enix is now considering creating DLC for the fans.
FFXVI a Complete Game
A few days ago, Yoshi-P spoke to GamerBraves in an interview to talk about Final Fantasy XVI and why it is a fully complete game. “As you know, going into Final Fantasy XVI, the one thing we wanted to create was a full complete story, something that you can enjoy from beginning to end, 100 per cent without any DLC, and I think we were able to do that. But now we understand we’re getting feedback from players that have played the game, and lots of players want to see more, and we know that and understand that. For us, we’re taking that and then thinking about our options moving forward. So hopefully in the future, we can have something that we can give to you all.”
Old Final Fantasy Titles Have DLCs
Previous Final Fantasy titles have gotten story DLCs, especially the recent ones like FFXV and FFVII: Remake. It is Square Enix’s method of extending the game’s popularity to the fans and gaining sales along the way. It could happen for FFXVI but since this is the first time that Square Enix is considering it, DLC could still be some long ways off, unfortunately.
Final Fantasy XVI is now available on PS5.
