Game developer miHoYo recently announced that there will be server maintenance tomorrow for popular free to play video game Genshin Impact.
According to the developer, they will be making some fixing to known issues in order to give players the best experience. This will cause servers to be temporarily down for a while. While the update maintenance is in progress, they will not be able to log in to the game. Here is the schedule for the maintenance:
2020/10/22 07:00 – 2020/10/22 11:00 (UTC+8)
(Precise times are subject to change. Players may also experience disruption outside of this period.)
After the maintenance period, players are advised to re-open the launcher and click update. After downloading the resources, restart the game and update the game resources in order to continue playing the game.
The down time will not be that bad though as miHoYo promises 240 Primogems as compensation. Also there will be a compensation of 60 Primogems for each hour the servers are down so if it would be later, there will be more to get. If the servers will get back online sooner than expected, they will still give out the full compensation.
Also keep in mind that the players at Adventure Rank 5 or above can get this compensation. It will be distributed via in-game mail within 5 hours after the update maintenance is finished. The mail will expire after 30 days, so redeem it as early as you can.
Genshin Impact is now available on PlayStation 4, PC, Android, and iOS.
