Take-Two CEO Confident Grand Theft Auto V on New-Gen Consoles won’t be a “Simple Port”

According to the CEO of Take-Two and owner of Rockstar Games Strauss Zelnick, upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version of Grand Theft Auto V will not be a “simple port.”

Zelnick was recently asked during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference just recently. He was asked about the remasters that has become a bigger part of their strategy. He replied that it has always been part of their strategy so there is no bigger part than that. He was confident to say that they have done these remasters quite differently than the competition.

“So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well,” Zelnick told the audience.

Zelnick was proud to state that with the GTAV upcoming new-gen console versions, they will offer a whole new strong experience to the fans. According to him, it was thanks to the success of the Mafia series that GTAV on PS5 and Xbox Series X will offer something fresh.

The CEO believes that the new-gen versions will not be just a “simple port.” He states that GTAV was the standard-bearer when it launched and it continued with the second generation and will continue with the next one.

When asked for an update for the sequel GTA6, Zelnick has this to say:

So, Rockstar hasn’t announced any new titles for the market and when there’s an announcement to be made, it will come from Rockstar, so I’ll probably leave you there, and I don’t think you would have expected anything different from me.

There will be no news about GTA6 for a while then. It will be just some rumors and unconfirmed reports for now.

Grand Theft Auto V for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launches sometime this year.
