That's a hundred million dollars for the first season or even more.

In a new report, the upcoming HBO’s The Last of Us TV series will have a budget that would have a budget that exceed more than eight-figures per episode.

IATSE 212 Artists Union President Damian Petti has recently shared this news with media outlet CTV News. He did estimate that each episode will cost more than eight figures and that meant it would cost $10 million per episode, but it is actually more than that. Way more than that.

“I cannot confirm the official budget numbers but will say it is likely the largest project shooting in Canada,” Petti revealed. “This project well exceeds the eight-figure per episode mark, so there is a multiplier effect on our economy in terms of its impact. There are hundreds of related businesses benefitting from the plethora of work.”

“The Last of Us which commences photography this week is indeed a monster,” Petti continued. “It has five art directors and employs an army of hundreds of technicians. It has had six months of prep and shoots (in Alberta) for 12 months.”

Before, it was confirmed by TLOU Series Showrunner Craig Mazin that it will be a 10 episodes for the first season. If it is going to be at least $10 million per episode, then the whole season is a whopping $100 million and it could be more because some of the episodes might be worth more.

HBO’s The Last of Us TV series will be worth more than Game of Thrones TV series Season One. It will be airing sometime in 2022.
