HBO’s The Last of Us Season Two Reportedly Now on Hold

Actors who read sides had to take the ones directly from the game.

A new report claims that the popular series HBO’s The Last of Us Season Two is now on hold due to the current writer’s strike.

The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us has been on hold after the Writers Guild of America is on strike for fair pay. Variety reports that the showrunners were making casting preparations for the second season up until earlier this week, but now they are on hold.

Sources claim that up until this point, the casting team had been asking the actors to read sides that are taken directly from the popular and controversial video game The Last of Us Part 2. During the auditions, this is their only method now because there are no scripts from the show itself.

The second season is planned for shooting early next year. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey recently suggested that filming would begin in the coming months. Series Co-Creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann also said the same thing as well. It will be filmed in Canada, but this time in Vancouver.
