And just like that, the Helldivers 2 story takes another sudden turn as the smooth production of Super Earth’s newest line of mechs is threatened by Automaton forces. A new major order has been issued calling for available Helldivers to open up fronts on Planet Tien Kwan.
A recent tweet from the official Helldivers 2 account calling for aid was announced. It reads as follows, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Our factories are under attack, halting all output. Helldivers have been deployed to liberate Tien Kwan.”
Helldivers 2 Planet Tien Kwan Calls For Aid
Helldiver 2’s method of organic storytelling is far different from the conventional way where live service games release their content in batches as part of seasonal content that lasts anywhere between 3-4 months. This was on the heels of the game’s first-ever balance patch that saw nerfs to the Breaker shotgun.
In the game’s briefing upon opening the Galactic War map, the following message is shown.
“The Automatons captured Tien Kwan, which was home to the sole Morgunson Arsenal producing Exosuits – new powerful weaponry that was slated for imminent fleetwide deployment. The Automatons do not appear to have discovered the Arsenal yet, but it is only a matter of time.
We must retake Tien Kwan immediately. If we fail, the Automatons will steal the Exosuit technology for themselves, and deployment of this powerful weaponry will be severely delayed.”
We don’t exactly know what will happen if we fail besides seeing a severe delay to the exosuit’s release. The briefing states that the Automatons will incorporate the technology into their standing forces.
Does that mean we will encounter even more powerful versions of Devastators or Hulks? The possibility should terrify even the most steely-eyed among us. We must prevent Super Earth secrets from falling into enemy hands at all costs. (Or at least delay it until we have more powerful weapons in our arsenals.)
As of the writing of this article, the major order is set to resolve in 70 hours. During that time, more than 120,000 Helldivers have answered the call and pledged their support to rid the planet of all bot presence. The forces of Super Earth seem poised to retake the planet well within the allotted time. But we must remain vigilant! Game Master Joel is lurking in the shadows ready to pull the strings and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
At the same time this is all going on, Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed details for its upcoming premium Warbond set for release on March 14, 2024. The date is now what many suspect to be when Helldivers 2 introduces the Exosuit into the game if all goes according to plan.
