Highly-Anticipated The Lord of the Rings Return to Moria Has Gone Gold Ahead of Release

After much fan anticipation, Free Range Games and North Beach Games recently announced the successful completion of their co-op survival crafting game, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. The title, marking its readiness for launch, has officially gone ‘Mithril’ (Gold) for the PC platform and is set to debut on PC on October 24, 2023. However, PS5 owners will have to wait longer, as the digital version and its physical counterpart have been delayed to December 5, 2023. Meanwhile, Xbox Series X|S players can expect a release in early 2024.

Earlier, the game creators gave fans an exciting sneak peek of their in-game Dwarf Creator. This feature allows players to craft a unique Dwarven character, providing various options ranging from beard styles and jewelry to voice tones and personality traits.

Diving into the game’s narrative, players will traverse beyond Tolkien’s legendary writings and step into Middle-earth’s Fourth Age. The plot unfolds around a call to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, voiced by the esteemed actor John Rhys-Davies. Gamers will band into groups of Dwarves, embarking on a journey to reclaim lost treasures from the Dwarven heartland, Moria, or as it’s historically termed, Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf.

The game allows players to craft their custom Dwarf and descend into Moria’s vast mines, either solo or with a team of Dwarves online. Thanks to the procedurally generated terrains, each venture promises a fresh experience. As the challenges intensify, players will craft sturdy armor and weapons to confront and conquer various foes, uncovering Moria’s enigmatic secrets.

The Lord of the Rings: Return is launching on October 24, 2023, for PC, and the PS5 version will be released on December 5, 2023, with the Xbox Series X|S version in Early 2024.
