New Indie Publisher Firestroke and solo indie developer PolyCrunch Games have announced today that their challenging yet accessible roguelite, Falling Out, will be released on PC and console this year. The announcement is supported by a feature-rich demo that will be immediately available to download on PC (via Steam).
To celebrate the announcement, Firestroke has released a trailer for the upcoming 2D roguelite.
“ Falling Out was inspired by the charmingly colorful 16-bit era of gaming, the challenging and rewarding nature of classic roguelikes but with the aim to bring it to a wider audience. Firestoke was the perfect partner for my vision due to their desire to make accessible games that everyone can enjoy. That’s what we’re building and I can’t wait for everyone to try the demo!” said Neville Attard, Founder of PolyCrunch Games.
“We’re delighted to have partnered with PolyCrunch Games to bring FALLING OUT to a global audience. Our aim is to deliver compact, accessible, social, and – most importantly – joyful games for console and PC. FALLING OUT is all of those things and much more!” Paul Farley CEO and Founder of Firestoke added. “The game is currently scheduled to be our first release and we can’t wait to share it with players later in 2022.”
About Falling Out
In Falling Out, you take control of two accidental adventurers, Giorgio and Felicie, as you explore ancient kingdoms, discover treasures, take on ghastly creatures and try to avoid traps. The dream getaway has quickly turned into a holiday from hell, so ditch the itinerary because you’ll now need to choose your own path. Navigate through procedurally generated temples that are scattered with unique obstacles and challenges – all offering the perfect balance of risk and reward.
You don’t always get on but you’ll need to work together. Play in either single-player or multiplayer co-op, utilize their unique attributes by seamlessly switching characters, and traverse through each world to find the way out.
The temples are also a little prone to flooding… so don’t hand about for too long, grab what you can, and get to the exit before it’s too late. Oh, and please leave your partner behind…
Key Features
- Go it Alone or Find a Real Human: Play as either Giorgio or Felicie in solo, co-op, or VS mode. Easily switch between characters to use each of their unique characteristics.
