CI Games has confirmed that a sequel to the recently released Lords of the Fallen reboot is in development and slated for a 2026 release.
While details are still scarce, the developers have revealed some exciting tidbits about what players can expect. Built on Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen 2 promises “elevated production values” and a “more commercial art style and narrative.” This suggests a potential shift in visual style and storytelling, perhaps aiming for broader appeal.
One of the most significant additions is the introduction of “full ‘shared-progression’ co-op” alongside the core single-player campaign. This means you’ll be able to team up with a friend and conquer Mournstead’s challenges together, with your progress carrying over between sessions.
The sequel will also offer “increased game mode optionality,” hinting at greater replayability and customization.
This news comes on the heels of the successful launch of Lords of the Fallen (2023), which surpassed one million sales within ten days of its release. The game received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its challenging combat and atmospheric world.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is planned for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Interestingly, CI Games has signed a deal granting Epic Games exclusive distribution rights for the PC version.
