Nintendo revealed that the two video games will get more updates in the future due to its successful first year. Head of software development Shinya Takahashi said that the Mario Kart game will get more updates after the recent update. That introduced the support for Nintendo Labo to the popular racing game.

Splatoon 2 did not have a clear explanation though. Takahashi said that it will have more updates are coming, but he did not confirm that they will end all updates after later this year. They might even add more paid expansions or DLC, since Octo Expansion was successful.
